A Gym Fitness Instructor is a fitness professional that develops and implements an individualised approach to physical fitness, generally working with client’s in a gym / leisure centre environment. A Gym Fitness Instructor may help an individual assess their level of physical fitness and help them work toward a personal fitness goal through proper exercise instruction and personal motivation. The scope of practice for Gym fitness Instructors is to enhance the components of fitness for the general, healthy population.

Students will train in a fully equipped leisure center establishment using all the up-to-date modern fitness equipment for the practical work.

Whilist on course students will work with real clients. This will ensure they are prepared to enter the industry trained and confident and ready to start their new career.

Many Gym Fitness Instructors work through local fitness centres, Private training studios and health clubs, assisting clients within the facility.

First Aid

cert3 (2)First aid is a requirement for issuing of Certificate III in Fitness. Students are encouraged to complete this externally during their course, or where numbers permit, WA Fitness Academy will arrange a group course during your course on weekdays or over a weekend. In which case, an additional First Aid fee is to be paid at the time of your First Aid course.

Where a student already has a recognised current First Aid certificate they are to present that copy for Recognition of Prior Learning purposes.

Duration of Course

  •  6 Weeks Full Time
  • 12 Weeks Part time
  • 12 Weeks Flexible Learning

 Attendance-Full time

Monday to Thursday 09.00 am to 4.00 pm

Attendance-Part Time

Tuesday and Thursday evening 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm

and occasional Saturdays 


 RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

Recognition of Prior Learning is a process whereby potential students can apply to be given recognition / credit for previous experience or skills gained through other training. All potential students are eligible to apply for RPL. There is no restriction on the number of modules for which RPL can be granted. Potential students can be given full qualification where RPL indicates that they have achieved all the required learning outcomes of a competency / course.
